The Swiss army (yes, the Switzerland does have a military… kinda…ok, it is actually a cross between a militia and a regular army. Happy now?). Where was I?
Oh.. yes.. now I know. 
The Swiss army decided in February to open up the bidding for the army’s new pocket knives to international companies. Seven manufactures around the world submitted bids to make the new knives. Just think of it:
Swiss Army Knives – Made in China.
In the end, Victorinox – the best Swiss army knife manufacturer (in my opinion) – won the contract and will be making the blades for the Swiss Army. Disaster avoided.
Victorinox knives are issued to NASA astronauts as standard equipment; they have also been to the top of Everest and to the Arctic. Not to mention those blades who have found adventures in the Sawtooths, Central America, Philippians and South America.
It would be disturbing if the swiss army had knifes made in china instead of switzerland… especially with Victorinox
